Final versions of Opera Mini 5 and Opera Mobile 10 released
Today Opera Software announced that its Opera Mini 5 and Opera Mobile 10 web browsers are now full products, outside of the beta testing phase for most phones. Opera Mini 5 is available for Java-based BlackBerry devices, while the company says the product is still in beta for Android and Windows Mobile handsets. Opera Mobile 10 is available for Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 phones. Opera didn't detail what was added to the final release of both browsers, which are available at m.opera.com.

Mog streaming music app set to launch on Android, iPhone
At the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin Texas, Mog announced that its Mog All Access for Mobile application will launch on the iPhone and on Android platforms later this year. The service provides streaming music for $10 per month. It has yet to be approved by Apple's App Store.

40 percent of BlackBerry owners would swap to iPhone, 33 percent to Android smartphones
According to a new smartphone brand loyalty report by Crowd Science, 40 percent of BlackBerry users prefer the iPhone as their next smartphone device choice. 32 percent of them also said that they'd be willing to swap out their phones for the Google Nexus One on T-Mobile. Meanwhile, 90% of iPhone owners won't change their brand. The report included 1,140 respondents and also found that Android and iPhone users use their devices more often for personal use, iPhone owners are more likely to pay for applications, and Android owners were typically younger and less affluent than BlackBerry or iPhone owners.

Netflix Watch Instantly for Windows Phone 7 Series demoed
During the MIX conference in Las Vegas today, Microsoft showed off a Netflix application for Windows Phone 7 Series. The software is the first mobile application of its kind to offer Netflix's Watch Instantly streaming service, typically reserved for set-top boxes and the like. The application will allows user to stream movies from Netflix's Watch Instantly library.

FCC ready to unveil National Broadband Plan tomorrow
The Federal Communications Commission will reveal its National Broadband Plan tomorrow. Due to Congress on March 17th, the goal of the plan is to help provide affordable broadband internet services to 93 million Americans. Possible solutions include dedicated spectrum for free wireless broadband for lower income communities, as well as a request for more spectrum from broadcast companies.

Apple will replace iPads with dead batteries for $99
Apple said today that it will replace iPads with failing batteries with brand new iPads for $99 plus a $6.95 in shipping fees, providing that the device needs service "due to the battery's diminished ability to hold an electrical charge." Any data stored on the iPad will be lost. Apple's iPod and iPhone products also offer hard-to-replace batteries, and it has similar programs in place for those devices.

Fandango Mobile Ticket Program launched in 8 markets
Fandango today announced a new Mobile Ticket program that lets moviegoers show up at the movie theater and use their mobile phones to gain entry. After purchasing tickets, you'll be able to display a barcode that can be scanned at theaters in eight markets, including some theaters in New York City, New Jersey, Houston, Dallas/Plano, San Diego, Bakersfield, CA, San Diego, Sonoma County, and Hawaii.
