HTC Hero for Sprint tour - part 2
Video by Michael Oryl on Thursday September 24, 2009.
A video tour of the contacts system and various messaging functions of the HTC Hero for Sprint, including Facebook, Twitter, Exchange email, Gmail, visual voicemail, and instant messaging.
The HTC Hero for Sprint has a wide array of messaging apps and features - most of which integrate with either a home screen widget, the contacts list, or both. In this video we take a good look at the contacts app and all of the various info tabs HTC has added to it that integrate SMS, email, and even Facebook and Flickr updates.
The built-in Microsoft Exchange support in the Hero is pretty nice, since it deals with not only email, but also calendar appointments and contacts. The folder support isn't great, though, since each folder needs to be synched manually to see if there are new messages waiting there.
Gmail runs quite nicely on the Hero, as is to be expected. The Oz instant messaging client lets users connect to AIM, Windows Live, and Yahoo! IM services, while the separate Google Talk client handles the Google IM system.
There's also visual voicemail support and a HTC developed Twitter client (with matching home screen widget). We have yet to get visual voicemail to work, though, and Sprint is looking into the problem.
Don't forget to check out parts 1 and 3 of this video. The links will be found directly below, though part 3 hasn't been uploaded as of the time this was written.

How does the Voice Command app work over a bluetooth headset? Does tapping the headset control starts the Voice Command app and allow you to issue commands?

No, it does not work with a Bluetooth headset at all. it uses the phone's speakerphone for everything, though audio for calls goes through the headset as expected.

In People menu, let's say I go to one of my contacts and there are 4 numbers, and the first number is a default number, how can I change the default to a different number, in other words instead of the first number being default I want the 3 number (Home) to be default or do you have to delete the number and re-enter the contact from scratch. I also found a glich, when using a Bluetooth, if you receive a call and answer with the touch screen then the Bluetooth won't work, you have to hear the conversation on the phone earpeice, if you want to hear the call from the Bluetooth then you have to answer the call from the Bluetooth function button
