Video by Michael Oryl on Tuesday September 01, 2009.
Here's a quick look at the new globally roaming Escapade from Verizon Wireless. It features a 2MP camera and quad-band GSM support, which lets it work most anywhere.

Bought the phone. Immediately found glitches in calendar and picture software. Verizon tech support admits to calendar glitches and promises a future fix. Calendar items will not set beyond current date despite menu asking for starting and ending dates; calendar times default to the half hour regardless of times entered (meeting at 6:15?- enters as 6:30); calendar sound alerts seldom work. Received pictures-cannot save the first time around. Must open and close Save Picture menu a coupla times before pix is saved. Not mentioned in adverts is the fact that in addition to your monthly contract, you must also subscribe to a global service agreement and/or feature to make calls while outside U.S. Also, the directions that come in the box are bare bones and mostly useless. This phone goes back today. For future calls while outside U.S. I'm sticking with the prepay Vodaphone recently purchased in Ireland. No fuss-no muss. Just top off at most any store.
