Smartphones may not have the hardware power to run full Xbox worthy titles yet, but it appears Microsoft may be preparing to extend its Xbox LIVE gaming experience to your Windows Mobile phone in other ways.
On December 23rd, Microsoft listed a job posting for a principal program manager of LIVE Engagement. The manager is responsible for helping to "drive the platform and bring Xbox LIVE enabled games to Windows Mobile" with "avatar integration, social interactions, and multi-screen experiences."
If Microsoft does expand into this space in the future, it sounds like it's planning to get its feet wet by allowing users to do some Xbox LIVE basics, like viewing their accounts, friends, and stats.[via Engadget]
