Acer A1 Android smartphone possibly to be announced in September

An official at Acer Inc. reportedly told the Business Mirror of the Philippines that the company will be announcing four new smartphones in September 2009, including its first Android-powered smartphone. Apparently called the A1, Acer's first Android-powered smartphone is believed to sport a touchscreen display, though no details have been officially released.
Acer recently entered the smartphone arena with its acquisition of E-TEN and the resulting announcement of four Windows Mobile-powered smartphones. [via Android Authority]
