Sony Ericsson possibly prepping W518a Walkman to navigate the U.S. market
Rumors by Ricky Cadden on Tuesday March 17, 2009.
A WAP profile for the unannounced Sony Ericsson W518a Walkman has been discovered, and it offers a few details for what is believed to be a variant of the W508 Walkman. The W518a is a clamshell cell phone with a QVGA (240x320 pixels) resolution display and quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) support, according to the WAP profile.
The W518a is believed to have tri-band UMTS (850/1900/2100MHz) support, like the W508a, but supposedly also includes aGPS support, for location-based features. The 'a' in W518a signifies the American market, and it's likely this phone would end up on AT&T's 3G network, though that has not been confirmed. [via SEMCblog.com]
