Samsung Acme i8910 spotted, might run S60 Touch
Rumors by Ricky Cadden on Thursday February 05, 2009.
Rumored Samsung Acme i8910
Photographs of an unannounced Samsung cell phone have surfaced online. It is believed to be called the Acme i8910. The phone appears to be clad in a black and silver color scheme, and features a large touchscreen display.
While the photos do not show any images of the user interface, the i8910 name and button layout hint that this could be the first non-Nokia smartphone to be powered by S60 5th Edition, with its touchscreen support. The i8910 name falls in line with Samsung's two most recent S60 devices, the i8510 and the i7110. There are also three buttons located below the display that sport markings that appear to be quite similar to those found on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, which also runs Nokia's S60 5th Edition platform with touchscreen support. The button configuration does not appear to be workable for the Windows Mobile or Android platforms, lending further support to our S60 Touch theory.
According to rumors, this phone will feature an 8 megapixel camera as well as a built-in GPS receiver, WiFi, and a standard 3.5mm audio port. It is believed that there will be two versions of the device, one with 8GB of internal storage, the other with 16GB. [via Gaj-It.com]
