AT&T launches LG GW820 eXpo with full specifications and pico projector details

Snapshot by Brian James Kirk on Monday November 30, 2009.

Official specs for the LG GW820 eXpo Windows Mobile 6.5-powered smartphone for AT&T have been revealed, after AT&T quietly announced the phone with only limited details earlier this morning.

The GW820 eXpo features a touchscreen and a slide-out full-QWERTY keyboard, a 5.0 megapixel camera, aGPS and WiFi functionality, and more. Users will likely appreciate the high-speed 3G HSPA 7.2Mbps data connectivity that the phone provides. For added security, the eXpo also includes fingerprint recognition for secure unlocking.

Running on Windows Mobile 6.5, the eXpo should offer all the business and consumer benefits of the powerful new operating system, like Microsoft Office Mobile and Internet Explorer Mobile. The OS should look great on the handset's 3.2-inch, 16 million color touchscreen display. Users can tap out text messages and emails on a full-QWERTY keyboard and snap photos with the eXpo's high resolution 5.0 megapixel camera with auto flash. The handset has support for microSD cards, too, for additional storage.

Additionally, the GW820 eXpo is compatible with the optional LG Mobile Projector, a Texas Instruments' pico projector that lets users share what's on their screen on surfaces as far as eight feet away.

The LG GW820 eXpo will be available December 7 for $199.99 after a mail-in rebate. The optional LG Mobile Projector will be available sometime in the coming weeks for $179.99.
