Nokia seems to have heard what consumers and analysts have been saying for some time: we want more folders. The newly announced 6260 is one of a number of new folder designs to be introduced today. The 6260 goes a bit beyond a simple folder design, though, adopting a fold and twist system not unlike some of the phones built by LG and Samsung in the past year. Like the 3G heavyweight 6630, the new 6260 is also a Series 60 device, but unlike it, the 6260 is only a triband GSM/GPRS device. But at least there will be two versions, one for the Americans (850/1800/1900Mhz) and one for the rest of the world (900/1800/1900Mhz).

While it only has a VGA camera (with video recording capabilities), the way the camera is activated is of some interest. You activate the camera by twisting the display 90 degrees. Other interesting features include support for Nokia push to talk (PTT) system, Bluetooth, and SyncML support. Like many other current Nokia handsets, the 6260 also has a MMC memory card slot for expandable media storage.
