Motorola has just released the A840 dual-mode (CDMA and GSM) phone at CTIA 2004. It is one of the first handsets to support both types of networks, allowing users to roam to most countries with the single handset. The A840 is designed for the mobile professional and has advanced PIM and messaging functionality.

Also in the package is a 1.2 megapixel camera, MP3 player, removable Trans-flash memory, and a 2.2 inch 65K color display. The camera has 4x digital zoom, short range flash, as well as MPEG4 video capture and playback. One of the more interesting features is the speaker independent voice recognition system which allows you to dial by number or contact name.

Other features include Bluetooth, picture phonebook and calendar, BREW support, 64-voice polyphonic tones, MMS and instant messaging.
