the Samsung Finesse is a pretty nice phone but the price to many people isn't going to be getting them. if the price was 250.00$ the metro store would be crowded.

Sam @ 4:58:15PM EDT on Sunday May 10, 2009
I'm looking at the Finesse, but I'm still trying to find out what it can and cannot do. I read so far that it doesn't play Youtube videos and when I went into the store the salesperson told me that it doesn't scroll, which was kind of a turn off since I previously had the iPhone. Can anyone tell me why I should buy this phone? What makes purchasing $349.99 phone worth it?
dboy @ 8:48:00PM EDT on Monday May 11, 2009
can anyone view videos on this thing? im not talking about the mi 1,2, and three. i mean like on youtube or any other video site.
BriyanBentleyCoup @ 1:18:26PM EDT on Sunday May 17, 2009
I got the finesse and its some bullshit! I beleive its the metropcs network though, not the phone. I cant watch things on youtube and cant download free ringtones like everyone else who has a metropcs messenger which is less expensive than the finesse. fuck the finesse. i was better off getting something else. the only good thing is the bill is cheaper than most carriers and i aint have to sign no paperwork..gave them a fake name and the muthafuckas who run the stores from my experience are just interested in taking ur money and dont know anything that can help you out with the phones
Bob @ 6:44:50AM EDT on Wednesday May 27, 2009
The finesse is kind of like Iphone ultralight. It comes with a few applications, and I can download a few others and there are some for sale. I have yet to find an app I would download or pay for. They are pretty lame.
The GPS is freaking great! Worth the price of the phone by itself. It does the talking thing (one male, one female voice), and has 3 different map configurations you can use. It also searches for resataurants, movies, events, coffee shops based on my location etc... And it will "follow me" and track how far I travel (or walk). It also has maps and will just list directions you can email or print (bluetooth).
The MP3 player is one of the best sounding I have found. Hands down beats my Ipod nano. It comes with a wired headset, but I put in an order for a bluetooth stereo headset for my birthday. It holds an 8 gig micro SD card. I got a 2 gig one with the phone. Video looks great. It has a limited accelerometer that only works with the video and images. It sports a 2meg camera/video camera which takes pretty good pictures for a phone. The video camera is marginal at best. The pictures are easily web quality, the video meets youtube standard quality.
The Full qwerty keyboard is much better than I would have thought. You can "feel" it when you touch the keys as it has a (variable) clicking vibration when you hit a key.
I rate the browser and web access a 6 our of 10. It lets me do the things I need right now, but is nothing to write home about. You can expand and shrink the browser view, but not with your fingers, but rather a slide bar. It does not support Flash.
The email app supports all of the main web based email sites EXCEPT hotmail... But I can access it via the browser though it sucks to do so. The Mobile instant messenger supports both AOL and MSN.
All and all I am pretty pleased with it. It was $349 and my phone/data plan is $50 a month for unlimited phone, web, mail, text, gps, etc... It does not come with separate wifi which is probably the thing I am most disappointed about, but hey, I knew that when I bought it and it's not an iphone...
Cassie @ 1:48:46PM EDT on Friday June 12, 2009
I just baught it with a case :] the thing about the youtube videos is pretty lame and the full browzer on the metro network isnt that great i switched from a HTC Touch Diamond from sprint (they ripped us monthly for yrs reason i switched) im a teen but i really dont care for it because it lacks basics like a shift key and video flash a mp3 LIST instead off clickin threw 200 songs one by one and yes i agree that ringer is very annoying :/ u barley hear it till your caller abotu reaches your voice mai; :/ and by the time u get it..to late
naomi @ 2:11:58AM EDT on Wednesday July 1, 2009

I AM ABSOLUTLEY DISAPPOINTED I BOUGHT THIS PHONE THREE MONTHS AGO AND MY TOUCH SCREEN DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE AND ITS IS IN GREAT CONDITION SO I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WIT IT. I DONT RECOMEND YOU THIS PHONE ITS COST ALOT AND ITS DOESNT EVEN WORK
jdub49er @ 2:30:47AM EDT on Wednesday July 22, 2009
Anyone else working on bringing apps to this phone. Step one is finding a new browser. I'm looking into opera mini but anything besides metro web. can't even get on craigslist wtf
jdub49er @ 2:33:25AM EDT on Wednesday July 22, 2009
.jar files are the way to go. still working on getting rid of errors.
DONT RECOMMEND THIS PHONE @ 12:39:43AM EDT on Monday August 10, 2009
I bought this phone the week it came out. Back then, nobody knew much about this phone except that it was a touch screen phone that came with MI 1 2 and 3.
If I knew back then what I know about this phone, I wouldn't have spent so much money in it. I had to drop my family plan b/c you have to get the $50 smart phone plan.
The web browser is no better than the regular non-smart phones. It won't play any videos, it won't let you download ringtones, WORST INTERNET BROWSER EVER!
The applications suck, IM and Mail won't let you log in 1/2 of the time, you cannot assign a certain ringtone to a contact.
THIS PHONE SUCKS!!!
Spend your money on the Messenger or the QHint... This phone would be a good phone if it were on another network that lets you use fun applications with it.
MetroPCS killed the Blackberry Curve with its network, and it's killing the coolness of the touch screen phone with all of its restriction.
DON'T GET IT! @ 12:41:30AM EDT on Monday August 10, 2009
One more thing, this phone's bluetooth won't let you send or receive ringtones. It has the ability to do it, but they programmed it so it won't let you.
METRO PCS SUCKS THE FUN OUT OF COOL PHONES!
LiLi @ 11:47:06AM EDT on Monday August 17, 2009
This phone is pretty cool, I got it on July 2nd, and fell in love with it. You can infact bluetooth ringtones, better yet just hook it up to your computer, and then you can put all the ringtones and music you want on your phone. You can also assign ringtones to contacts, but you have to make sure the music is in ringtones, and not music
VILLA @ 9:25:39PM EDT on Friday August 28, 2009
I BOUGHT THIS PHONE WHEN IT CAME OUT, AND I LOVE ALL THE THINGS IT HAS I HAD ALMOST THE SAME PHONE WITH SPRINT THE INSTINCT BUT I WAS PAYING MORE THAN 100 DOLLARS, AND WITH THIS IM ONLY PAYING 55DOLLARS, BIG DIFFRENCE SAVING HAVE AND THE SAME FEATURES.
Rick @ 11:50:07AM EDT on Tuesday September 8, 2009
i like the phone because it's called "smart phone" and i don't like it because is not really!!!! is very stupid no videos no pop-ups, no nothing!!!
gurujulp @ 2:43:13PM EST on Thursday November 5, 2009
The gps is indeed worth the phone price itself, although I haven't figured out to put in destinations by coordinates for geocaching. Anybody figure that out yet?
I haven't had any of the problems that others mention except for the youtube issue, but I just burn my own videos and convert them to mp4 and put them on my card. The phone says it will only accept up to 8gb, but it can use the 16gb as well, that's what I have in it.
Morgan @ 8:18:13AM EST on Thursday November 19, 2009
How much does the Samsung Finesse cost after you purchase the phone? What is the full total with insurance?
Toddsemail1977@yahoo.com @ 1:19:30PM EST on Friday January 8, 2010
I knew going in this was not an Iphone. So i was expecting the limitations. Mainly i wanted Gps and a music player for the gym and be able to check my face book. The phone woulfd be worth more if they would just unlock it and let you add your own apps. I have a Bluetooth usb stick for my home pc and can send files to my phone that way.It bypasses the block metro has. I download free ringtones and pics and add them to my phone manualy to the sd card. So far i found you can not delete the defalt pics the screen pops up if you push the unlock key, nor can you change them. If you use the usb cable that comes with the phone it only allows you to put files on the SD card... not the phone directly. No SD card- no music or custom ring tones or videos. There is no video player except the one for The video camra. Video files have to be in Video camra format to play which is 3G2. You can find converters to change from Mp4 or Avi to 3g2. Its not a media player so it wont play movies cont or shuffle. i watch music videos while i work out so i had to make one continuis video to get it to work or it stops after each video. Also in widescreen mode the screen saver turns on (black screen) after about 3 min. Leave it in normal view and it doesnt come on. If they would just let someone make a media player for the phone and allow you to add apps this phone would be very nice. And i hear the defalt setting only allow you to play up to 200 songs. Again a decent media player would solve this. Id even pay for it if they had one, but they dont. Come on Metro if your not going to add features let us do it our selfs by unlocking the phone and makeing it available to add aps. There is plenty of memory to add software like video players and web browsers. Oh .. and the touch pen should be able to hide in the phone. Its a nice pen but i dont like things dangling from the phone that could scratch the screen. How about a case with a slot in it for the stylis?
ticoyproud @ 6:40:30PM EST on Sunday January 24, 2010
Do you need to get the smart phone plan to get this phone?? i have the $45 plan with my other phone from metro, but if the $50 smart phone plan is required, i probably wont get this phone
travasss @ 4:12:08PM EST on Tuesday February 23, 2010
