Kyocera's Swiveler for North America
Snapshot by Michael Oryl on Monday March 22, 2004.

Kyocera KoiJumping right out of the pages of "Why do the Japanese get all of the cool phones?", we have the Kyocera Koi for the North American CDMA market. The Koi is based heavily on the Kyocera A5305K, but instead of having a meager VGA capable camera, the Koi has a 1.2MP camera that can shoot photos of 1280x960 resolution.
I had a chance to play around with a working model a couple of months ago at the CES show in Las Vegas, and was able to take photos of the device at that time. It was hard not sharing the info, but the only way I could get access to the device was to sign a NDA. So at least I got to enjoy it, even if the rest of you had to wait.... I'm sure that makes you all feel better.
In any event, the Koi should start shipping "very soon" here in the US. We look forward to a full hands on review in the near future.
