New Siemens CX65 Multimedia Phone
Snapshot by Michael Oryl on Friday February 13, 2004.

Siemens CX65Siemens appears to be positioning itself for a big, if slightly late, push into color phones with multimedia capabilities. The SX1 is finally shipping around the world, and the new CX65 appears to be well positioned to cover the generic consumer side of the world. While it is styled somewhat like the SX1, it shares little in terms of software. The CX65 doesn't run the Symbian OS or use Nokia's Series 60 user interface, for example.
But it does have a large 65k color display, and a full VGA resolution camera that can shoot still photos and video clips alike. Perhaps the most important thing to note here is that Siemens has heard the complaints fired at handsets like the Sony Ericsson Z600 - that it has too little storage space. To that end, Siemens has given the CX65 a whopping 11MB of storage space. That's not bad for a regular phone, considering there are still PalmOS PDAs on the market with less storage.
Siemens has stated that the CX65 will be available in shops in the second quarter of 2004.
