Sony Ericsson has unveiled the C510 Cyber-shot, the most affordable Cyber-shot cameraphone to date from the company. The C510 features many of the innovative camera technologies now available to mobile phones. Bundled with the new 3.2 megapixel shooter is a sliding lens cover, autofocus, face detection, auto-rotation, and YouTube video uploading. The Cyber-shot's Smile Shutter technology detects when someone is smiling and snaps the shot at that perfect moment. Sony Ericsson has also partnered with Snapfish, enabling users to make print orders direct from the phone.
Three variants of the C510 will be released in the first quarter of 2009: the C510 supports tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900MHz) and 2100MHz UMTS, the C510a for the Americas sports quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and tri-band UMTS (850/1900/2100MHz) support, and the C510c for the Chinese market supports tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900MHz). Each version features a 2.2" QVGA (240x320 pixel) screen, Bluetooth with A2DP stereo support, and a Memory Stick Micro slot.
The Smile Shutter software featured in the C510 will also be available for the C905 Cyber-shot. Users will be able to download the update directly from Sony Ericsson's web site next month.
