LG and Alltel have partnered up to introduce the Swift, a new flip phone for Alltel's wireless customers. The new 3G CDMA cell phone sports the Fastap text input system, which fuses together both a regular phone keypad with raised buttons for each letter of the alphabet to provide functionality similar to a QWERTY styled keyboard. The handset also features the latest Fastap technology with Fastap Press-to-Experience keys for one touch access to services and applications including Alltel Navigation, Shop, Email, and Image Library.

The LG Swift itself is a mid-range device that supports Alltel's 3G EV-DO data network and features a 1.3 megapixel camera with camcorder, a microSD expandable memory slot, external music buttons, a dedicated speakerphone button, and Bluetooth stereo.

The LG Swift will be available through Alltel for US$49.99, after a US$50.00 mail-in rebate and two-year service agreement.
