Nokia launches uber-cheap 1202 and 1203

Snapshot by Ricky Cadden on Tuesday November 04, 2008.

Today Nokia unveiled its most affordable cell phone ever, the Nokia 1202. Extremely light on features, the 1202 manages to squeeze a built-in flashlight and dust-resistant keypad into its small 105.3mm x 45mm x 13.1mm (4.1" x 1.8" x .5") frame.

The Nokia 1202 features dual-band GSM (900/1800MHz) support. A version with dual-band GSM (850/1900MHz), called the 1203, will also be available. Both models should be available in Q1 2009, priced at a rock-bottom EUR25 (US$32) before taxes and subsidies.

The 1202 will be available in your choice of midnight black or violet blue, while the 1203 will only come in a silver gray color scheme.

The phone is good to use. Except the ear piece which for some reason when you take a call on it - sounds like the loudspeaker is on and people around can hear what your friend has to say. It surely connects people. Your friend beside you can advise you what to say to the friend on the phone if he/she is having a problem. Don't buy if you value privacy...
