AT&T launches dual-keyboard Pantech Matrix

Snapshot by Ricky Cadden on Tuesday October 14, 2008.

Today, AT&T and Pantech announced the availability of the Pantech Matrix, a feature phone with dual-sliding keyboards. The standard numeric keypad slides down, offering a typical cell phone experience, but a QWERTY keyboard also slides from the side, offering convenient text input.

The Pantech Matrix sports a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities and a microSD card slot for extra storage space. The device is well connected, with quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) support and dual-band UMTS (850/1900MHz) support for AT&T's high-speed 3G HSDPA network. AT&T's Video Share calling is supported, as well as Cellular Video streaming multimedia.

The Pantech Matrix packs built-in A-GPS support, for use with the AT&T Navigator GPS navigation service, as well. This feature-packed cell phone is available today from AT&T, in your choice of navy blue or black with green accents. A red color scheme will be available shortly, as well. Pricing is set at $79.99, with a 2-year commitment and mail-in rebate.
