Sprint now offering Sanyo Katana Eclipse

Snapshot by Michelle Ruhfass on Monday August 18, 2008.

Sprint unveiled the Sanyo Katana Eclipse today, a clamshell styled cell phone. The Katana Eclipse features two displays in its package and offers customizable lighting. The lighting feature lets users set external lights in various patterns and shades to match up with contacts and messages.

Also on the Katana Eclipse's exterior are handy music controls for the built-in MP3 player. A 1.3 megapixel shooter and video recorder are included on the new device along with a microSD card slot for additional storage headroom, if needed. With EV-DO data support, the Eclipse is capable of supporting Sprint's plethora of web apps, including Sprint Mobile Email for access to POP3 email such as AOL, Yahoo!, and Gmail.

Other features of note include A2DP Bluetooth stereo support, voice activated dialing, a 2.5mm headset jack, and micro-USB connectivity. The Sanyo Katana Eclipse from Sprint is available now for $99.99 after rebates and a two year service agreement.
