Samsung releases SGH-P705 GSM TV-Phone

One of two new high-end phones Samsung recently announced for the the US market, the SGH-P705 is a clamshell-style dual-band (GSM 900/1900Mhz) mobile phone with a 2.2" 260K color TFT LCD screen, WAP 2.0 and is compatible with MIDP 2.0 Java applications. That's all wonderful, of course, but what is really important is that it also packs a NTSC TV tuner for watching television on the go! According to the press release, there will also be support for capturing screen shots of TV shows and forwarding of those screenshots to others via MMS. As if that wasn't enough new technology, the external sub-display will be an OLED unit.

Availability for the SGH-P705 is scheduled for November 2003.
