Snapshot by Michelle Ruhfass on Tuesday March 11, 2008.

O2 has announced a new Windows Mobile device, the Xda Atmos. This new candybar shaped smartphone comes equipped with a slide out QWERTY keyboard and full 3G capabilities.

The Xda Atmos has an on board 2 megapixel camera, 256MB of built-in internal storage, and a microSD card slot for even more expansion. For those who prefer moving over still pictures, the camera can be used to record QVGA resolution videos. The Xda Atmos is also well connected, with quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and tri-band UMTS (850/1900/2100MHz), and data over WiFi, EDGE, or HSDPA. Like all Windows Mobile 6.0 devices, the Xda Atmos supports Microsoft's Direct Push system for over the air synchronization of email, contacts, calendar, and tasks.

The Xda Atmos comes in matte black and is available today from the O2 website and retail locations. Retail price depends on which O2 tariff is chosen.
