Vodafone Shipping Samsung SGH-i640v with Slide-Out QWERTY Keyboard

Snapshot by Michelle Ruhfass on Friday February 29, 2008.

Recently Vodafone announced that it will be adding a new smartphone to its portfolio of 3G devices. The Samsung SGH-i640, an attractive and slim slider styled QWERTY handset is geared towards business users and offers Windows Mobile functionality with 3G HSDPA connectivity.

Apart from looking good, the i640 sports a 2 megapixel camera for photos and videos. Users can view snapshots they take on the device's large 2.4" QVGA color display or share them via email or MMS. The i640's slide out QWERTY keyboard makes this Windows Mobile 6 phone ideal for business use, such as messaging or editing Microsoft Office files. This cell phone also supports push email solutions, including Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync's Direct Push.

Other features of note include Bluetooth and WiFi technology for short range wireless communications, GPS, USB connectivity, and a jog wheel, similar to the one found on the new BlackJack II, to aid in navigation of emails, messages, and menus.

Vodafone UK customers can find retail and tariff information at the Vodafone UK website.
