Today Verizon Wireless announced the availability of the Motorola MOTO Z6c, a dual-mode 3G phone that can be used both on CDMA EV-DO networks, like the one Verizon operates, as well as most GSM networks found outside of the country, for true world roaming capability. When used on Verizon's home network, though, Z6c users will enjoy the full array of services offered by Verizon, including its V CAST Music and Video services, mobile email, and VZ Navigator GPS navigation.

The Z6c shares much of its physical design and capabilities with the GSM powered Z6 ROKR that we reviewed some time ago. It has the same slider form factor, a 2 megapixel camera, and a nice 65k color display that sports 240x320 pixel resolution. Music files, which can be side loaded from a PC or downloaded directly from the V CAST Music store, can be enjoyed both with wired and wireless stereo headphones, thanks to Bluetooth A2DP support. A microSD memory card slot that can support cards as large as 4GB should provide plenty of storage headroom for all the user's media. For those more interested in practical pursuits, the Z6c also has built-in speaker independent voice dialing for quickly calling a contact without having to look at the phone's display.

The Motorola Z6c weighs 105g (3.7oz) and has a battery that Verizon claims will be good for a very respectable 4.9 hours of talk time. It is available for purchase from Verizon's website today, and should be available in Verizon retail locations on the 12th of this month. Pricing is set at US$179.99 after a $50 rebate when bought with a new 2 year service agreement.
