Nokia Announces 5070 for the Youth Market

Snapshot by Brad Kellett on Thursday March 29, 2007.

The Nokia 5070 is a new entry-level handset from the Finnish manufacturer designed for the youth market with fun in mind. Specifications aren't super, but the device carries everything the mobile social set needs.

Messaging is paramount for the Nokia 5070's intended market, and the device covers this with SMS/MMS and Nokia's Xpress Audio Messaging. The 5070 includes a built in camera so users can snap and save all of life's moments. A stereo headset is bundled to make use of the Nokia 5070's FM radio, plus Java games and a web browser are included to help fill quiet times. The user can even set MP3 ringtones.

Bundled with a battery good for 3.5 hours talk time and 12 days standby, the Nokia 5070 will be available in red and blue starting Q2 2007 for just 100EUR (around US$130).
