Today, just hours before the start of the 2007 CTIA show here in Orlando, Sony Ericsson has announced their first HSDPA handset for the North American market, the Z750. The Z750 supports three UMTS/HSDPA bands and all four of the GSM/EDGE bands used throughout the world.

The Z750 has a mirrored exterior that looks nearly identical to that of the Sony Ericsson Z610, though the inside of the folder makes use of an updated design. Like on the Z610, the Z750's mirrored finish hides an external display that lights up when there is an inbound call or incoming message.

Features of note on the Z750 include a 2.2" 262k color display that can show an RSS news feed based scrolling ticker that keeps the Z750's owner up on current events. The Z750 also has built-in support for Microsoft's Direct Push over the air synchronization technology, so that it can be kept current with email, contacts, and calendar entries located on a corporate Exchange Server. Other items of note include a 2 megapixel camera, an FM radio, a Memory Stick Micro memory card slot, and 3D Java game support.

The Sony Ericsson Z750 will initially ship in pink and gray color schemes and is slated to go on sale in Q3 of this year, with the USA's AT&T/Cingular being a likely candidate for carrying it. No pricing information has been provided at this time.
