Live From 3GSM: Toshiba Portege G900

Snapshot by Brad Kellett on Tuesday February 13, 2007.

Toshiba was showing off its new Portege G900 Windows Mobile 6 Professional PDA phone at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona this week, and we managed to grab it for some hands on photos. The device has a very stylish look to it, and includes specifications that match it with the best of more common brands like HTC and i-mate.

The preliminary feature list is quite promising, with tri-band GSM/EDGE (900/1800/1900MHz) and UMTS/HSDPA (2100MHz) allowing the Portege G900 to be used on any GSM 3G network worldwide. Bluetooth and 802.11b/g WiFi connectivity are also present, and a slide out QWERTY keyboard is a great addition. The device features a huge 3" screen with a fantastic WVGA (480x800 pixel) resolution, with a 2 megapixel camera for photos and a secondary camera for video calling also making an appearance. A miniSD memory card slot provides memory expansion, with the Portege G900 including USB On-The-Go functionality, which is a rarity.
