Showing its traditional strength in slim sliders, Samsung has today introduced the new SGH-i520 S60 smartphone, an attractive device with brains to back up the beauty. While it might not be as thin as some of the company's other handsets, its 17.9mm (0.70") still keeps it pocketable.
The new SGH-i520 runs Symbian OS 9.2 with the S60 v3 Feature Pack 1 user interface, bringing a full suite of PIM functions and compatibility with many 3rd party applications. At only 99g (3.49oz), the SGH-i520 does well to include HSDPA and UMTS high-speed data, as well as Bluetooth v2.0+EDR with the A2DP stereo headset profile. A 2.0 megapixel rearward facing camera and front facing camera for video calling are available, and microSD memory cards can be used for gigabytes worth of storage. The 2.3" 262k color TFT display with QVGA resolution gives a crystal clear view to all the phone's functions.
Though no specific pricing or carrier details have been announced, Samsung state the SGH-i520 will be available during Q2 2007. More photos of the Samsung SGH-i520 are available on the following page.
