In addition to the PDAL, i-mate also announced that it will be selling the new JAQ3 QWERTY keyboard equipped Windows Mobile Pocket PC phone in the US, and with the same high-end features as the PDAL, it could be the answer for those that need a well-featured device with a keyboard.

The i-mate JAQ3 is a huge improvement over the original JAQ, which was itself only on the market for a short time before the JAQ3 was announced. Cutting the size and weight of the device down while adding great features like 802.11b/g WiFi connectivity and a 2.0 megapixel camera is fantastic, and the JAQ3 now has the specifications to be able to compete in the crowded Windows Mobile QWERTY phone market. A microSD memory card slot can be used to boost the on board 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM, and the device features the same 2.4" touchscreen from the PDAL, albeit in a landscape orientation. Bluetooth with A2DP is available, with GPRS/EDGE taking up the reigns for GSM data for this quad-band device. Navigating the Windows Mobile 5.0 with AKU3.2 operating system is made easier with the scroll wheel on the side of the device.

As with the PDAL, the i-mate JAQ3 will be available for purchase through carriers and retailers by the end of January.
