The new Sony Ericsson Z710, unveiled today in London, is targeted at business users that wish to get work done, but still want to be able to relax. The reserved looking clamshell handset supports features such as push email and access to RSS feeds, but still offers a 2 megapixel digital camera and a media player that supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, and eAAC+ music formats.
The Z710 has a bright 262k color TFT display with 176x220 pixel resolution on the inside, and a very large 1.5" blue on white grayscale display on the outside for quick access to the Z710's functions without wasting a lot of power. The Z710 has 10MB of built-in storage and ships with a 64MB Memory Stick Micro (M2) memory card for additional storage. Cards as large as 1GB in size can be used in the Z710.
Additionally, you'll find such entertaining features as an instant messaging client, FM radio, and 3D games. The quad-band GSM device supports EDGE for faster downloads, and Bluetooth v2.0 for faster connections with computers and phones as well as wireless stereo (A2DP) headsets. The new Access NetFront web browser that is included promises to bring a more PC-like web browsing experience to the Z710. A push-to-talk client will help you switch quickly back to business mode, when needed.
Sony Ericsson expects the Z710 to start shipping in Q3 as the Z710i in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas, and as the Z710c in mainland China. It will be available in Twilight Black and Metallic Sand.
