Bringing Walkman to the Masses: Sony Ericsson W300

Snapshot by Brad Kellett on Tuesday February 28, 2006.

Following up on a promise to bring Walkman branded handsets to the low- and mid-range, Sony Ericsson has announced the W300 clamshell - the first clamshell Walkman handset from the manufacturer.

While the Sony Ericsson W300 is the seventh Walkman branded handset, with the company selling over three million units total worldwide, all of these are in the higher end of the price spectrum. The W300 presents a welcome change, and includes features such as 20MB of on board memory, Memory Stick Micro expansion, quad-band and EDGE compatible radio, and up to 30 hours of music enjoyment on a single charge.

The Sony Ericsson W300 will ship in two versions - the W300c for mainland China and the W300i for everywhere else, and come in either while or black. A 256MB Memory Stick Micro and a stereo headset will be included in the retail box.
