Sony Ericsson Shows FM Radio Equipped J230

Snapshot by Michael Oryl on Wednesday November 16, 2005.

On Monday Sony Ericsson launched the new J230 entry level handset. The J230 is a virtual clone of the J220 that was introduced at the same time. The only difference is the addition of an FM radio function and in-box stereo headset in the J230 package. Like the J220, the J230 offers a single icon per page menu system in addition to the normal 3x3 icon grid menu typically used by Sony Ericsson handsets.

Beyond that, the J230 offers little except for compact size, low weight, and the ability to swap covers by purchasing optional Sony Ericsson Style-Up covers.

There will be two different dual-band GSM versions of the device available: one for the Americas, and one for the rest of the world. Sony Ericsson expects the J220 to start shipping in Q1 of 2006.
