Cingular Introduces Samsung SGH-D307

Snapshot by Brad Kellett on Saturday October 22, 2005.

Cingular has announce the availability of a new QWERTY keyboard equipped clamshell handset, the Samsung SGH-D307.

The Samsung D307 utilizes a dual-hinge design to provide both a regular mobile handset keyboard and a QWERTY mini keyboard, depending on whether the handset is opened vertically or horizontally. Although the D307 is not a smartphone, it is optimized for messaging, supporting all the messaging standards including POP3 and IMAP4 email.

The Samsung D307 is fairly well featured, and includes Bluetooth connectivity and EDGE high-speed data. The Samsung D307 also includes speakerphone functionality and advanced voice recognition - allowing the user to dictate messages rather than typing - in quiet environments at least.

The Samsung SGH-D307 is available now from Cingular for US$249.99, or US$199.99 after a US$50 mail-in rebate.
