Nokia 6265i Receives FCC Approval

Snapshot by Brad Kellett on Wednesday September 14, 2005.

One of Nokia's first slider style handsets, the 6265i, has received FCC approval, pointing to an imminent launch. The Nokia 6265i is 99.9% the same as the 6265 reported on earlier, except for the addition of a GPS module.

The Nokia 6265i is an attractive, though business looking handset. It features a 2.0 megapixel camera with video recording, and a large, high resolution 262k color LCD screen. The Nokia 6265i also includes 24Mb of on board memory, which is expandable with miniSD cards for plenty of room for the high resolution pictures or MP3s. Although the 6265i weights in at 126g, it includes Bluetooth, InfraRed, and USB connectivity, as well as speakerphone functionality.

There is no word on carrier support for the Nokia 6265i, but it is expected to launch in the United States and other markets during Q4 of this year.
