Alltel Extends Push E-Mail to MOTORAZR and Kyocera Strobe

Press Release posted by Michelle Ruhfass on Monday November 27, 2006.

Alltel’s Office Sync E-Mail Service, Powered By SEVEN, Will Be Added to Other Handsets Later

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. & REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alltel Wireless (NYSE: AT), America’s largest network, and SEVEN, the global market leader in push e-mail software, today announced that Alltel customers now can send and receive e-mail in real time from select BREW handsets. The service is currently available on the MOTORAZR V3c and the Kyocera Strobe K612B and will be added to other BREW handsets later.

“Office Sync for BREW devices is a great option for customers who prefer to use conventional wireless handsets rather than PDAs,” said Wade McGill, senior vice president of product management for Alltel Wireless. “It significantly expands the options for keeping Alltel customers connected with friends and business associates while on the go. We’re pleased to be the first wireless carrier to launch this service with SEVEN.”

Office Sync for BREW handsets also provides users with access to their corporate contacts. It is available from Alltel for $14.99 per month, including unlimited data. Customers can find out more by contacting their Alltel Wireless business solutions representative or by calling 1-877-BIZ-CNTR, or by visiting their nearest Alltel retail store.

“We have been delighted to see Alltel’s dedication in making Office Sync such a success in only six months from its introduction,” said Kent Thexton, CEO of SEVEN. “Thanks to the extensive cooperation with SEVEN, Alltel, Motorola, Kyocera and Qualcomm, Office Sync for BREW handsets overcomes the traditional compromise between handset performance and style. Combined with an Alltel unlimited data plan where you don’t need to compromise between features and price, Office Sync now enables enterprise customers of all sizes as well as consumers to enjoy the benefits of mobile e-mail.”

The new service is the latest addition to Alltel’s rapidly expanding array of advanced wireless communications products. It complements the introduction earlier this year of Office Sync for Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices.

Office Sync is available today in two versions: Enterprise Server Edition for businesses and Personal Edition for individuals and smaller businesses. Based on SEVEN’s award-winning push e-mail software, both versions of Office Sync are easy to install and simple to use and meet the growing communications needs of mobile professionals. The SEVEN software on BREW automatically pushes new e-mail to the user’s phone immediately, mirroring changes on desktop and vice versa, extending all the benefits of real-time desktop messaging to the mobile device with a very comfortable user experience.
