Verizon Wireless reveals its 4G LTE network real-world speeds

Today Verizon Wireless announced that its fourth generation long term evolution (LTE) network is significantly faster than current 3G networks offered by U.S. carriers, and it revealed a few data throughput numbers to back up its claims.
Verizon Wireless is testing its LTE network in Boston and Seattle and found that it was capable of offering average real-world download speeds between 5-12Mbps and upload speeds in the area of 2-5Mbps. LTE is capable of providing peak download speeds between 40 and 50 Mbps and upload speeds between 20 and 25Mbps.
Verizon Wireless says its on track to deploy its 4G network to 25-30 markets, covering about 100 million people, by the end of 2010.Tweet
