Sony Ericsson Satio touchscreen smartphone being pulled off UK retailer shelves

Newsbrief by Brian James Kirk on Wednesday November 25, 2009.

Engadget Mobile reports that Sony Ericsson's Satio smartphone has been pulled off retail stores shelves in the UK because of a software glitch that causes the device to power down unexpectedly.

When users try to access certain applications, the phone reboots, a problem that apparently cannot be fixed with an over-the-air update. Sony Ericsson Senior Marketing Manager Richard Dorman confirmed with the publication that it is a known issue and that the manufacturer hopes to solve the problem by Christmas.
