Cricket Wireless has announced the MSGM8, a full-QWERTY feature phone that utilizes Cricket's 3G network.
Users can dial up friends and family on the phone's 2.2-inch display and snap photos with the MSGM8's 1.3 megapixel camera. Bluetooth connectivity lets users use hands-free headsets and speech recognition technology. A toggle dial on the left side of the phone is available for controlling volume and navigation scrolling. Users can store up to 1,000 contacts and utilize Cricket's MyBackup service, which keeps a copy of the contacts on Cricket's servers, where they can be easily retrieved if lost.
The Cricket MSGM8 will be available November 27 for an introductory price of $99.99 until November 30.

The overall concept for this phone is great, but it lacks in many areas. I currently have the Samsung messager I, I wanted to upgrade, so it was between the Samsung messager II (Which I love) or the cricket msgm8. The price was only 79.99 for the msgm8 so I went with that. The 2 things that I hate about this phone was 1. The quality of the camera is very bad, my current Samsung messager takes very good pictures, and these looked almost like a cartoon. And 2. The widgets on the home page are very helpful but the scroll option is super slow, it gets aggravating. I thought the button in the middle was like the blackberry's scroll button, but its not. Just a regular “push" button. I just wasn’t impressed with the graphics and I personally felt like it was a downgrade. It seems cheaply made also, if you drop it a few times it may just break, so definitely get insurance.( I’ve dropped my Samsung like 1000 times but it just bounces back. But overall for the price it’s not too bad; it just didn’t meet my phone needs. The sucky thing is, I have to return the phone and forfeit my activation fee and pay for re-shipping, even though I never activated the phone. My new Samsung messager is on the way. Much better phone!
