Federal judge denies AT&T request to pull Verizon Wireless ads off television
News by Brian James Kirk on Thursday November 19, 2009.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that a federal judge has ruled that the Verizon Wireless "There's a map for that" ad campaign is not misleading, denying a request from AT&T for a permanent injunction on the commercials. AT&T will have a second chance at a follow-up hearing on December 16.
The decision is certainly a win for Verizon, which most recently said publicly in a legal document that the claims it makes about AT&T's network are true and that "the truth hurts."
The court decision is the latest news in a string of exchanges between the two companies since Verizon began running the advertisements on television earlier this fall, as we reported. [via EngadgetMobile]

The monopoly is crying now....

Although there Verizon's little catch phrase "There's a map for that" does sound very similar to Apple's iPhone ads "There's an app for that".

I have AT&T, had to sign a contract and can't get out, and can't get service in my own home...inside or out. Purchased a repeater antenna and still can't get service from AT&T. Friend has Verizon and another has Tmobile and they don't have any trouble with service on my property...So, they are right in these advs.
