Nokia announces 5330 Mobile TV Edition with DVB-H support

Product Launch by Brian James Kirk on Monday November 16, 2009.

Nokia has announced the 5330 Mobile TV Edition, a new slider handset that revamps the Nokia 5330 XpressMusic handset for DVB-H mobile broadcast television.

The new Mobile TV variant of the 5330 includes many of the same feature as the original model announced in March, like a 2.4-inch QVGA display and a 3.2 megapixel camera.

The mobile television technology lets users tune into television programming, set reminders for favorite shows, and create personal lists of channels. Users can enjoy up to 6 hours of entertainment with the device's powerful battery.

The phone comes equipped with Nokia's Comes With Music service, which provides free, unlimited access to millions of music tracks. Users can listen in over Bluetooth A2DP stereo technology or plug in headphones to a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition will be available for 155 EUR (US$232). The DVB-H service is available in Austria, Finland, Ghana, Kenya, India, Italy Namibia, Nigeria, Netherlands, Philippines and Switzerland with 20 more markets to come over the next 12-18 months, the company says.
