AT&T sues Samsung, LG and others for LCD price-fixing

News by Brian James Kirk on Thursday October 22, 2009.

The Wall Street Journal reports that AT&T has sued Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and others for allegedly price-fixing LCD panel components used in mobile phones. The suit claims that the display manufacturers worked together in a "long-running conspiracy" to raise the price of LCD screens and to restrict competition in the U.S.

Last year, LG, Sharp, and Chunghwa, defendants in AT&T's case, paid $585 million in criminal fees for price-fixing LCDs in the U.S. after a probe by the U.S. Justice Department. AT&T says that it purchased 300 million handsets during the price-fixing period, which raised the cost of the devices. [via EndgadgetMobile]

I had to call AT&T about my first phone freezing up on me and turning off etc, then the replacement phone started giving me the same issue's, so once again had to drive about a half hour to the warrinty store and hand devliver my replacement phone for another, now! I do tell to all who is thinking Samsung Enternity Cell Phone. Don't go through the same thing, like I am going through! Now once again back to the store and say "Where is my Money!".
