Today phone manufacturer Kyocera announced that its first Android devices would be available next year.
Kyocera is typically known for its lower priced and relatively basic handsets; the company hasn't released a smartphone to the United States market in years. Previously, Kyocera has developed smartphones running the Palm OS platform.
In its brief announcement, Kyocera did not provide any information on potential LTE carrier partners for the United States, but it did mention that it is planning to release a dual-mode CDMA/LTE handset by 2011.
Kyocera has not ruled out other operating systems for its upcoming device portfolio.
