Research In Motion has announced that it will launch BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac on October 2. The free software will allow Mac users to sync contacts, calendars, tasks, and notes between their Apple computers and BlackBerry smartphones.

BlackBerry Desktop Manager will sync with Apple iCal, Address Book, Microsoft Entourage, and more according to the company. The software comes with BlackBerry Media Sync, which will allow users to sync iTunes music with their device. It will also be able to handle application installation and removal with a BlackBerry smartphone.

In July we reported that RIM would offer the Mac syncing software in September. Users must have Mac OS X 10.5.5 and higher and BlackBerry OS 4.2 and higher to run BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac.
