Today T-Mobile USA announced that the much anticipated Motorola CLIQ, Moto's first Android-powered smartphone, would be available for pre-order from October 19, 2009 through the first of November. The country's number 4 carrier also said that the device would cost $199.99 with a new 2-year agreement, a price point that many, including this editor, feel is too high to build the amount of excitement and the volume of sales that Motorola needs to become a major force in the industry again.

T-Mobile did not say exactly when the pre-ordered devices would ship, only that orders would ship "as they are received" and that they would include a free car charger. General availability of the CLIQ is set for November 2 according to T-Mobile.
