Motorola announces new H17 folding Bluetooth headset

Product Launch by Michael Oryl on Tuesday September 22, 2009.

Yesterday Motorola announced a new Bluetooth wireless headset, the H17. The H17 features a microphone boom that folds to not only make the headset smaller when not in use, but also functions as a switch to turn off the headset. Motorola's RapidConnect system allows the H17 to power-up and answer a call in one quick flip of the microphone boom.

The H17 also features voice prompts that guide the user through the pairing process as well as tell the user when mute mode has been activated or when the battery level is low. Speaking of the battery, Motorola claims that the 9g (.3oz) headset's battery is good for up to 5 hours of talk time on a full charge, but it can be rapid charged with 2 hours of talk time after only spending 15 minutes on its charger. Another useful feature is the H17's ability to connect simultaneously with two devices, so it can be used with a work and personal phone at the same time.

And like most recent Motorola headsets, the H17 supports the company's CrystalTalk dual-mic noise reduction system, and it is even designed to withstand 5mph winds. The Motorola H17 is expected to be available for purchase soon.
