Sony Ericsson extending its Java platform to entry-level phones

Newsbrief by Brian James Kirk on Wednesday June 03, 2009.

Sony Ericsson will integrate its Java platform into its entry-level 3G phones in an effort to attract more developers to create content for the company, the company announced today in a press release.

The company hopes that extending the platform into more cost-efficient phones in emerging markets like China will improve the experience for those new customers by eventually providing them with more content and applications.
