Motorola to include Blockbuster OnDemand movies in future cell phones
Newsbrief by Michael Oryl on Tuesday August 18, 2009.
Blockbuster has announced that it will start offering BLOCKBUSTER OnDemand movie download service on specific Motorola cell phones in the future. The company has not announced when the service will be available or which Motorola handsets will be supported. It did say that "thousands of current BLOCKBUSTER OnDemand movies" would be available.
Blockbuster's Senior VP of Digital Entertainment, Kevin Lewis, had the following to say regarding the deal with Motorola.
"People are increasingly relying on their mobile phones to stay connected to the things they love the most -- including their favorite movies and TV shows. The integration of our BLOCKBUSTER OnDemand service into Motorola's mobile phones will provide access to thousands of movies from the moment someone initiates their service."
