Report: Android 2.0 will offer multitouch, be available by end of year

CNet speculates that Android 2.0, code named Eclair, will be the first version of the mobile operating system to ship with multitouch gesture support.

Both Android 1.6, code named Donut, and Android 2.0 will ship before the end of the year according to Google director of mobile platforms Andy Rubin, as we reported. [via Android Authority]
