Microsoft and Nokia announce partnership to put enterprise Office suite on smartphones

Today Microsoft and Nokia announced a partnership that will bring Microsoft Office Mobile and Microsoft business communications software to Nokia's Symbian-based smartphones.

Nokia smartphone users will be able to view, edit, create, and share Office documents with mobile versions of Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and OneNote. Users will also be able to instant message with Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile. Intranet and extranet portals will be available through SharePoint Servers and device management will be provided by Microsoft System Center.

The optimized software will be available on Nokia Eseries devices initially, though no estimated availability date was provided.
