Samsung's Product Manager for the Samsung Reclaim, Casey Ryan, told the New York Times yesterday that next year, consumers can expect touchscreen phones running Android to be available for well under $100.
Though it is not clear whether he means in particular that Samsung will pursue affordable Android devices or if he was talking about the direction the industry will move in general, it seems clear that smartphones will be more affordable as components become cheaper and as operating systems become competitively affordable, as in Android's case.
