MetroPCS restructures service plan offerings with additional features

News by Brian James Kirk on Friday July 31, 2009.

MetroPCS has restructured some of its service plans with more features. The carrier's $40 plan now includes unlimited nationwide minutes, text messaging, and web data. Its $45 plan includes unlimited email messaging, navigation, and social networking applications. The cheapest MetroPCS plans, its $30 and $35 offerings, now include caller ID and call waiting.

The new pricing tiers are most likely an effort to remain competitive since Sprint acquired Virgin Mobile this week, as we reported, and as Boost Mobile and Cricket Wireless continue to be competitive prepaid carriers. [via Phone Scoop]
