Palm updates the Pre's webOS, iTunes synching is back

Palm has released a new version of its webOS smartphone operating system for the Palm Pre. The update, called webOS 1.1.0, updates most of the major applications in the Pre.

Most noteworthy is a change that fixes iTunes synching, which was broken when Apple released iTunes 8.2.1 earlier this month. It appears that we are going to see an ongoing cat and mouse game as Apple does something to lock the Pre out, and Palm issues an update to work around it, much as we've seen with Apple and the various iPhone unlocking systems that are available today.

Other updates of note in webOS 1.1.0 include improved Microsoft Exchange support, better Facebook and Google contact synchronization, a faster loading Camera application, and a number of new gestures and features in the Web browser app.

The full list of changes is available at the Palm website.
